Great Opportunity for Engineers through Visa Subclass 476

July 14th, 2008

At present, Engineers belong to the Australia’s Migration Occupations in Demand List. This is the reason why Australia opens its doors for engineers with occupations including Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining and Petroleum Engineers. Australia is a good place to pursue a career not only because of its prosperous economy but also because of certain laws which are concerned with the welfare of their employees such as superannuation.

In the 1940’s to 60’s, a rise in the population is achieved in the Western Countries including Australia. Because of the predicted possible strain in the economy when the bulk of the population reaches retirement, the government devised superannuation.

Now, the Australian Government introduced a temporary visa called Skilled-Recognised Graduate (subclass 476) because the local labor supply cannot provide enough for the demand in engineering graduates. This temporary visa allows recently graduated Engineers from different reputable educational institutions in the world to travel, stay, study and work in Australia.

This place is really a good place to start your engineering career because according to the Seek Salary Centre, cadet engineers in Sydney with only 0 to 3 years of experience can already earn as much as A$35,000 to $45,000 annually while those with 5 to 10 years of experience in the industry could earn between A$50,000 and A$90,000 per year.
